Trekking in the Forest of Pescasseroli

Parco Abruzzo
Trekking adatti a tutti

A delightful stroll through the Bosco della Difesa in Pescasseroli (AQ), among impressive, centuries-old trees, candelabra beech trees, and dry-stone walls, which served as the backdrop for the film The Fox and the Child. It's easy to encounter foxes, horses, and peaceful cows grazing here.

We'll walk through forests and clearings that host Art Park, permanent installations where the forest frames works reflecting the relationship between Man and Nature.

The trail starts just a short walk from the center of Pescasseroli. After a brief ascent to a small hill offering a wide panorama of the Pescasseroli valley, we proceed into the ancient forest.

After crossing various clearings alternating with the forest and reaching the base of Picco la Rocca, we return along the Sentiero della Difesa, which brings us back to Pescasseroli.

At the end of the activity, there’s an option to enjoy a delicious lunch at a local Agriturismo.
